Little Big Band are at the Farmers Arms in Lowick tomorrow for their Winter Fair.

Arrive by 3pm in Swing Band shirts (free choice bottoms & shoes); playing from 3.30-5pm.

Many apologies but I am having to postpone the ‘Friend of UVHS Music’ meeting that was scheduled to be held tomorrow evening at 6pm, as I now have meetings (and a parents’ evening) on every night of the week.

The meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday 22nd November @ 6pm. All parents are welcome to attend – details of funding for the Wind Band tour and finance in general will be published here by the end of the week so that everyone can see ‘where we are’.

This is well worth a look for any student who enjoys performing!!!!

A rather timely request for buskers has come in from Barrow town centre – so for those students taking part in The Great UVHS Busk-Off, please read below and use the contact given to book yourselves some slots.

Although we do not enter any ensembles into the SCMF, we encourage as many musicians as possible to have a look at the classes available in this year’s competition and to get involved if they can. Details are below:

Wind Band uniform is black skirt/trousers (not jeans), black socks and black shoes together with our pink Wind Band shirt. If you need to buy a shirt (if you already have one from previous tours then that is fine, it doesn’t matter what the year is on the badge) the link to Coniston Embroidery is here:

From now on we will not be putting the next tour destination on the shirt and it simply says ‘Wind Band’. Please be aware that you will need to order a shirt NOW if you wish to get it in time for the Christmas Festival.

Anyone from yr11-13 who wants to go on the Royal Marines ‘Look At Life’ course from 13th-17th February MUST get their names to me by Friday – if you have already spoken to me and said you want to go you need to tell me again!

Yr10 will get the chance in May (29th-2nd June) and/or October (23rd-27th)
