Many apologies, but I will have to cancel Swing Band rehearsal tomorrow (Friday 13th). The Jazz Combo are playing for BAE Systems at Abbey House Hotel from 8.45 – 11pm and we could all do with going home at the end of school.
There WILL be a rehearsal next week – we have to get ready for a 75 minute performance at Dickensian Festival.
A huge well done to the Little Big Band who played the first public gig of the year tonight, supporting Diamond Dolly (Dolly Parton tribute act from Portsmouth) at The Coro.
The Band was awesome, especially considering there were some new members (some of whom ended up sight-reading one or two numbers), and we gave three pieces a debut playing.
Well done to all the students who played – you certainly left the audience wanting more according to their chanting after the last number!!
Really sorry, but tomorrow’s (Friday) Swing Band rehearsal is cancelled due to Perdi being poorly and Mrs B. attending the Cumbria Teaching Awards in Carlisle in the evening – as a finalist with the Engagement Centre I might say!!
If any members of the Little Big Band, playing at The Coro on Saturday, are free after school, some help loading the van would be gratefully received.
Tickets will go on pre-sale to parents on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th October – only available in person from The Coro Box Office, and a password will be needed (this will be published on this blog by Wednesday 26th October). The remainder of the tickets will go to the general public from Monday 30th October.
Please publicize amongst family, friends and colleagues – it promises to be an absolutely brilliant performance, including the Wind Band, Junior Band, Full Choir, Chamber Choir, Brass/Sax/Percussion Ensembles, Flute/Clarinet Choirs to name but a few!!!!!
Feel free to print off this poster and/or post it on social media!!!!!!!!!!
Jazz Combo are playing from 6.30 – 7.30pm in Swing Band uniform (there by 6.15 please)
Senior Flute Choir and Sax Ensemble are playing from 5.45 – 6.20pm in Wind Band uniform (there by 5.25 please)
For those members of the Swing Band who missed Friday’s rehearsal (or those who forgot to pick up the letter), a copy of it is here (with the correct years on it!!!).

Please could all the clarinetists who went to Germany check their instruments. One student has realized that she took the wrong instrument home in July – her clarinet is a buffet but with a different make mouthpiece an a Vandooren reed.
If it hasn’t been found by next week we will also check clarinets during lessons with Miss Reed.
