There is no Wind Band rehearsal tomorrow (Tuesday).

ALL other rehearsals are running as normal both at lunchtimes and after school, including Swing Band on Friday.

• School production rehearsals commence on Wednesday lunch time and Wednesday/Thursday after school this week. The Wednesday afternoon rehearsal is for the full chorus, working on the singing and choreography of Fame, Lambeth Walk and … 2 new numbers – Thank You For The Music and Mamma Mia!   Individual groups need to speak to Mr Vogler to organise rehearsal spaces for lunch time slots on their small group performances.
• Wind Band – no rehearsal tomorrow
• Swing Band – no rehearsal on Friday

A reminder that the deposit payment for the Italy tour is due by Friday – it should be on your Parentpay account (if not please let me know and I will sort it out).

If you cannot get the deposit paid by Friday but DO want to go on the tour, it is not the end of the world. Please email me so that I can still see how many students are going and what the balance of the band is.

Two notices for Swing Band:

1. No rehearsal this Friday after school
2. The concert in Broughton on 2nd Feb has been postponed to a later date, tbc.

The Combo were excellent at The Netherwood Hotel on 19th Dec!!!!!!

A huge thank you to Year 12 and Year 13 students for performing at Booths for 3 hours on 22nd December and raising almost £300.  A brilliant effort and also fantastic initiative from Francis for organising it all.

It is this kind of selflessness and commitment which makes UVHS such a special place to work for myself and Mrs H!!!

The Booths music day and bag-pack scheduled for Friday is cancelled!

I am very sorry to those students/parents who may have been looking forward to the day but, to be brutally honest, Mr Butler is exhausted and, once all the engagements have finished by Wednesday he will not be in a fit state to spend 6 hours playing/singing/bag-packing on Friday – the same can also be said for a lot of the senior students who have been performing almost every day for a couple of weeks now.

The concert on Friday was superb – a truly excellent effort from all the students involved – we hope the audience enjoyed it too!

Merry Christmas to everyone from UVHS Music Dept, and here’s to a successful 2018!!
