Wind Band Tour – Form C

There are still a lot of ‘Form Cs’ missing  –  the compulsory Cumbria County Council health and safety form.  Please return them as soon as possible – I have attached a copy.

Jazz Combo – this Saturday

A reminder that the reduced combo is playing at The Coro this Saturday for the NSPCC Ball.  Arrive by 6.10pm;  playing from 6.30-7.45pm.

Royal Marines Social – hurry!!!

There are only a handful of tickets left for the Royal Marines Social on Friday 26th May at The Coro, featuring our own Swing band and the Marines’ Dance Band, 7.15 – 10.45pm-ish.

£10 each including pie’n’peas supper.  Cabaret seating.

Tour Dates

We have just signed off the three concerts for Wind Band whilst in Germany:

Mon 17th July  –  Kurpavillion in the Kurpark, Bad Munster am Stein-Ebernburg (19:30 – 20:45hrs)

Tues 18th July  –  Konigsbacher Biergarten am Deutches Eck, Koblenz (20:00 – 21:15hrs)

Wed 19th July  –  Zu Gast im Brunnenhof, Brunnenhof, Trier (19:00 – 20:15hrs)

ALSO – there is  ‘Friends’ meeting on Tuesday (9th May) at 6.30pm in the Meeting Room in A Block.  As usual, all are welcome to attend as we prepare for the Marines Weekend as well as the Summer Concert and Tour.  We are desperate for a volunteer to take over as treasurer as Louise Steur will be standing down after the Summer Concert  –  please, please, please could someone step forward (it isn’t too onerous a task – honest!!)

Wind Band Tour

A reminder that we need all the Form Cs (health and safety) back as soon as possible. If you are awaiting a new passport, please still get the form in and then send the new passport details once you have them.

Unfortunately, all balances also need to be paid in full by next week  –  total to pay is £350 (£270 after the £80 deposit). All info should be on your ParentPay account, but if you are unsure what is owing, please contact Mr Butler

Swing Band @ Cark

Swing Band are playing at Lower Holker Village Hall this Saturday from 7.30-9.30pm. Tickets are available on the door – feel free to bring your own refreshments and snacks.

Band members need to get there at 7pm to set up.

Recitals – reminder

A reminder that the second set of A2 recitals take place tomorrow evening (Wednesday) from 6pm in the main hall.  The order of performance will be:

1  Kate Oates – singing

2  Michael McCluskey  –  trumpet

3  Gina Evans  –  singing

4  Florrie Dobson  –  singing

All are welcome and it should end at about 7.30pm

Marines – massed band programme

Having just spoken to the Director of Music for the Marines, I am delighted to confirm the massed band finale programme – this band will consist of the Scotland Band joined by between 30 and 35 of our best players.

During their own set, the Marines are including the entire William Tell Overture as well as an amazing compilation piece called Kaleidoscope, featuring two former UVHS students as soloists – Sgt Andy Spain and Musn Rob Norrie.
