well done to the Swing Band for a great performance tonight. The students make me exceptionally proud to be associated with them!

A reminder that the concert tomorrow evening (Friday 13th March) at Aldingham Church starts at 7pm  –  band members must be there by 6.30pm at the latest to organise their pads.

The set list features songs from Florrie Dobson, Ben Lewis and Libbie Blackhurst, including the new Michael Buble arrangements.

Entry for the public is £5 on the door. Refreshments at the interval.

Please promote with friends and family – it would be great to get a full house!!

Apparently, the long-awaited DVDs of the Wind Band concert in Monnickendam, which was broadcast live in Holland, will be here very soon.  Attached is the artwork for the sleeve.

Many thanks to all of you who made cakes and/or donated raffle & tombola items for the coffee morning on Saturday.  An especially big thank you to those of you who volunteered to help throughout the morning.  We made just over £400 which is a great return considering that Saturdays are quieter than Thursdays for the  Coro Hall mornings.

Please check the calendar for up-coming events.

A reminder that we need cakes, raffle & tombola prizes and items for a bric-a-brac stall  –  either to my office tomorrow or at the Coro by 9am.

There will be live music from several groups and any students coming to help must be in Wind Band uniform or school uniform.

Most importantly, we need customers!!! Please try to persuade friends, colleague relatives to come along – £1 entry to get coffee and a biscuit.

The attached letter went out to Wind Band this evening (after a very good rehearsal with some excellent sight-reading of ‘Eloise’).  It will go out to Junior Band, Choir, Swing Band and Strings at their rehearsals over the next few days.

A reminder that Wind Band is cancelled tomorrow after school due to the Year 12 mock exams taking place in the hall all week.  Rehearsals will resume next Tuesday (27th Jan).

Also  –  letters will be going out from Friday onwards about our COFFEE MORNING  at the Coro on Saturday 14th Feb.  We will need cakes to sell (could be Valentine-themed), items for the bric-a-brac stall, tombola and raffle as well as volunteers to help on the day from 8.30am until 11.30am (or any time in between).  Some students will be performing background music during the morning as well.

Unfortunately I am absent from school today, therefore Swing Band rehearsal is cancelled. Please check the calendar on the blog site for upcoming engagements.
