Does anyone have a spare Wind Band shirt (the pink one)?? A couple of players have orders that have not yet been delivered.
If so … please bring them to school tomorrow morning – otherwise it’s my XXL shirts they will be wearing (as dresses!!)
Just a reminder to all parents AND students about the arrangements for tomorrow (please pass on this info either tonight and/or in the morning to jog their memory):
all the performers in tomorrow’s concert are going for an early lunch at 11.45am (end of p3). Years 7-10 must go to the dining room for food and will then be registered in the Cloister before walking down to The Coro at 12.25pm. Years 11-13 will be registered at The Coro at 12.40pm before the rehearsal starts at 12.45pm.
If you are coming to see the concert I hope you enjoy it, and may I take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
If your child plays alto sax, it is in a soft case and s/he has brought it home tonight, please check it is actually theirs! One of the yr13s brought her sax in this morning but it was not in the storeroom after school when she came to band practice.
Just a reminder that we could really do with donations of mince pies from as many performers in the Christmas Festival as possible and … if you are able to do so, some raffle prizes (if we get too many we will hold some over to the Marines concert).

The first band call for Hairspray is next Friday (21st December) from 12.35-1.30pm in the Stoller Suite. Please bring lunch to the rehearsal.#

Tomorrow’s Swing Band rehearsal is cancelled – first rehearsal of 2019 will be Friday 11th January in preparation of the concert in Broughton on Saturday 26th Jan.

Tickets can only be purchased in person from The Coro Box Office between 10am and 1pm this Saturday (8th December). They will then go on general sale to the public on Monday 10th December.
Tickets for the Massed Band joint concert on 2nd March (Wind Band with the Royal Marines) go on general sale next Monday – 10th December.
ALL members of the Wind Band will be playing. Order of programme is:

Up to 35 members of the Wind Band (mostly senior players) will be invited to play alongside the Marines in the Massed Band Finale.
HOWEVER – THERE WILL BE ONE DAYOF PRE-SALE TO PARENTS and STAFF (and those in the know!) THIS SATURDAY – 8TH DECEMBER. ON THIS DAY TICKETS CAN ONLY BE BOUGHT IN PERSON FROM THE CORO HALL BOX OFFICE BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10am and 1pm.
Prices: £18 balcony; £12 (£4) front stalls; £9 (£4) rear stalls
A password will (as usual) be required, and this will be published here by Friday.
We had intended to hold the next Friends of UVHS Performing Arts meeting on Tuesday 4th December. However, due to date clashes this cannot now happen, and there is no other space in the next 2 weeks to hold the meeting. Therefore the next meeting will be on TUESDAY 8th JANUARY: please could we have some support?
However, we do have to make arrangements for the Christmas Festival on Wed 19th December – for this we need parents to help with both programme and raffle sales on the night. Please email Mr Butler (rbu@uvhs.uk) if you are able to help – people need to be at The Coro before the doors open at 6.40pm.
We also need donations of some quality raffle prizes – please help if you can (items can be brought to the Performing Arts office).
