Quiz Time: How ‘replicant’ are you?

cover-do-androidsReplicant, I hear you ask?  How about replacing that word with ANDROID, or ROBOT (a word, incidentally, that is less than 100 years old and comes from another word meaning ‘slave’)?

But the word ‘replicant’ can only really refer to one work, or rather to a pair of them.  Philip K Dick’sDo Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?‘ (1968), and Ridley Scott’s film, ‘Bladerunner’ (1982).

Both deal with the ever more pressing question of what it is to be human.

Six replicants have escaped Mars and comeback to Earth – to meet their maker, and have their four-year lifespans extended.  Their presence is outlawed on Earth, which means that Bounty Hunter Rick Deckard (played so memorably by Harrison Ford) has to hunt them down and ‘retire’ them (not kill them, because they’re not human).  It’s kill or be killed, but somewhere along the way, Decker’s humanity is tested to the limit.

You can take the quiz here.  I scored 46% – let me know how YOU do …
