Tonight – which means you have 29 days to access it online – begins a two-part reading of his classic short story, ‘Burning Chrome‘, which incidentally is where the term ‘cyberspace’ first appeared.  You can access the reading here:  the second 30-minute episode appears next Sunday.

Two washed up hackers plan one big, win-big-or-die-trying, hit on a gangster’s online presence.  Can they get in?  More importantly, can they get out again, in one piece?

This has all the hallmarks that make cyberpunk such an exciting part of Science Fiction: a gritty, noir feel; that ‘could happen tomorrow’ prescience; and the emphasis on small people living small lives on the edges of society, doing the best they can in a world where the odds are firmly stacked against them.  Really recommend it – in case you hadn’t noticed …
