Literary Anniversaries: 10 August
Today, in 1962, Suzanne Collins was born in Connecticut, United States.
She needs little introduction of course, although many people don’t realise that she was a successful author of work for children before The Hunger Games came along.
Personally, I was pleasantly surprised when I taught The Hunger Games a couple of years ago. This despite really enjoying dystopia and at the same time being a bit snobbish about YA fiction (sorry).
