Competition: Foyle Young Poets, ends 31/07

The Poetry Society’s Foyle Young Poet of the Year Award is one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious competitions for young writers.

It’s open to all students from ages 11-17.  There are 15 top awards and commendations for another 85 entries, presented at the Royal Festival Hall in London on National Poetry Day, 08 October.  These awards include professional residential writing courses which can really boost your writing career, and past winners have gone on to become successful adult writers.

For more information about the competition you can look at previous entries, rules and guidelines here.  If you’re thinking of entering, please speak to your usual English teacher or to Mr. Guerrero!
