A book I recommend: Mrs Shufflebottom

the-day-the-crayons-quitThe Day the Crayons Quit by Oliver Jeffers

Poor Duncan just wants to colour in. But when he opens his box of crayons, he only finds letters, all saying the same thing: We quit!

Beige is tired of playing second fiddle to Brown, Blue needs a break from colouring in all that water, while Pink just wants to be used. Green has no complaints, but Orange and Yellow are no longer speaking to each other.

The battle lines have been drawn. What is Duncan to do?

I absolutely love this book! It is a beautiful, playful and imaginative story that will make you smile. You’ll look at crayons in a whole new way!

I really like the sound of this book, it seems very creative and funny. It also sounds good because all ages would like the book, not just one age group! I would love to see what other books this author has written!

Some books really DO speak to all age groups, Abigail. It’s a real skill to be able to write a book like this.
