The year 11 boys came up against a strong Trinty side in the county cup final. It was a very close first half both teams playing some nice football, with some good tackles flying in. after 28 minutes Ulverston conceded from a corner, due to some sloppy marking. trailing 1-0 at halftime UVHS came out trying to turn the game around, maybe pushing a little to much leaving not enough players back, Trinity school caught them on the break and slotted another passed Calum Mc. the game was soon put the bed considing from another corner, from the carlise centre half scorring his second of the game. Ben C missed some key chance’s. It didn’t look like it was there day. The boys heads still held high playing for pride, winning a penalty cooly taken by Huw B.
Trinity school proved to powerful from the Ulverston boys, final score 3-1.
Captains Man of the match once again Josh C.
UVHS 4 – Lakes 6
Despite playing against the year 8 team, Ulverston played really well and only lost by two goals even without a goalkeeper. It was a team effort, everyone played really well with great sportsmanship. Without a goalkeeper I think we did really well and all the girls played brilliantly to create the chances in which we scored our goals. Overall it was a great game. by Lucy P

Our year 7 netball team travelled to Hoops on monday to play a tournament. We won our first two matches comfortably against Furness Academy and Dowdales ‘B’ . We then came up against a very strong Chetwynde team. The match was closely fought with our team losing again by only one goal. In our last match against Dowdales ‘A’ we were unlucky to lose again by one goal; this time we scored in the last minute
Highlight of the tournament:
Winning our second match against Furness Academy

Name of captain- Rebecca
Year Group- Under 16 Girls
Date of Match- 7th November 2012
In the match the hockey team played amazing. There was some great passing and communication which resulted in those all important goals. The team pushed themselves through the game and worked really hard. They dropped back when it was needed and supported each other throughout the game. We had the best start to the game that could of asked for with an almost instant goal which give us the motivation to carry on scoring goals throughout the game. Cartmel also played well, although we were the ones celebrating the victory they gave us a great game and kept pushing us till the end of the match. Overall the team played well and I hope we can play all out matches the way we did in this match, a great win from the team. Well done
Highlight of the match- The first goal as it gave us the positive start that we needed

Beaten BUT Brave!
A more experienced Bernards side proved too stern a test for a plucky Ulverston side. Bernards were unbeatable in their strong tackling and impressive attacking displays. Although the ulverston defence was strong we didnt hold them off for the final tackle. The start of the second half looked promissing with strong runms from jack and tyler resulting in a try for tyler. For the next match we should reduce our passing because far too many times we lost the ball.
Highlight: Strong tackling from neumerous players.

The girls started the game with a very positive attitude and played really well managing to keep the ball away from our goal. We passed the ball around well using great communication and we all worked really well as a team.
The girls kept up with a positive attitude on the pitch but sadly we lost the game 2-0 despite playing really well as a team and not giving up after conceding the first goal. We remained on a high throughout the game and we all played our best!
We played the national champions but going into the game, that didn’t bother us at all! We went out and tried our best, putting 100% effort into our game. After the first 10 minutes, we were 4-0 down, however our goalkeeper Charlotte but so much effort into trying to prevent conceding anymore goals! Everyone was so supportive of each other and although we started to tire we all still put as much effort in as possible! We worked as a team, showing a positive attitude throughout! Well done girls!
Highlight of the match: Charlotte diving on the floor saving as many goals as possible.

Year group- 10 and 11 Date of match-17/9/12
Result and Score- 17-7 won
The match started off at a very fast pace however the girls soon got into the tempo of the game: passing the ball confidently in and around the centre third and feeding through to the goal shooter Emma who’s accuracy under the post became evident in the first few minutes of the opening quarter!
The academy fought back from a dominent UVHS start with a few impressive breaks in attack however some great work in defence from Catriona and Hannah meant the ball was soon heading in the right direction: after the first two quarters, UVHS lead with an impressive 10 goals to 4 and after a few rotations at half-time, were ready to get back on the court.
Some more impressive shooting came from Shannon and a strong performance in the centre third by Florrie meant the Academy had a difficult job of levelling the score line and when they did, Amy had it covered at goal defence!
In the end a great team performance saw an impressive 17-7 UVHS win! Well done

Result: Academy 4-1 Ulverston
The team played very well and was unfortunate for the loss. we lost an early goal from a misfortunate header. We managed to pull one back with a great goal from Beni P. unfortunately we conceeded again but managed to make a great opportinity from Callum D which struck the crossbar. Later in the 2nd half we conceeded a 3rd and a 4th goal. All together we played well but could of finished the chances to make a better result.
Highlight of match: Callum D hitting the crossbar

MATCH REPORT: Ulverston vs. Q.E.S – 17 Sept 2012
It wasn’t the best start until Brad W played a nicely weighted pass through to Reis. However, Q.E.S soon equalised. It wasn’t long before Brad.w put the blues 2-1 up witha poweful header past the goal keeper. Some pressure by Q.E.S lead to a goal. After half time Ulverston picked it up with a belting header by Ronan as some big tackles went in and Ulverston took the game, Huw taking a nasty challenge won a penalty and slotted it home. Ronan took a screamer on a slotted goal… a beauty.
FINAL SCORE: 5-3
HIGHLIGHT OF THE MATCH:
Ronan’s beautiful goal from 20+ yards out.
