We are going to Twickenham!

UVHS have been selected to play in a curtain raiser for the England v France 6 Nations game, next Saturday!

15 Year 7 pupils will be travelling to London next Friday (after school) and playing in a tag rugby tournament, then forming a guard of honour for the National Anthem. We will then stay and watch the game and travel back on the Sunday.

Cumbria Schools Cross-Country

Wednesday 18th January, Mrs Hayton took 23 of our runners from Y7-10 to the Cumbria Cross-Country Championships at Sedbergh on what was to be a difficult course.

From the final results that have come in 4 runners from Y7 (Olesia, Eva, Scott and Ben) have been selected to represent Cumbria at the Northern Inter-Counties Competition in a fortnight.

52 pupils compete in the Barrow Schools Cross-Country

Well done to the 52 pupils who competed in the Barrow Schools Cross-Country last Wednesday. We are waiting for the results to be finalised but we had some outstanding performances.

A special mention goes to O.Winder who won the minor girls race by 400m! S.Fisher who was a joint winner in the minor boys race and A.Thorpe who won the junior boys race.

Year 7 Netball v Chetwynde

Well done to the 30 Year 7 girls who played in the Netball matches last night against Chetwynde! Our Year 7a Team WON 14-4. Our Year 7b and c teams both lost narrowly but played really well.

The last Year 7 training before Christmas is Tuesday 6th December.

U15 Girls Football

WELL DONE to our Under 15 Girls Football team for reaching the semi-final of the County Cup. They now play Trinity School, Carlisle at home, date and time yet to be confirmed.

Our UVHS girls have scored 20 goals in their last 2 games against Cartmel and Dowdales! Well done girls!

Year 7 Netball

Our Year 7’s have started the year on exceptional form! Our Year 7a Team have won every game, convincingly! Our Year 7b Team have really improved, getting better as a team, every game. We play Chetwynde next week and all Year 7 Girls who have come to the training (all 35) will have the opportunity to play.
