Netball Under 16 Championships

Tuesday 26th September Miss Bird took an Under 16 netball team to Furness Academy to compete in the netball under 16 championships. The first game was against Chetwynde. At half time Ulverston were winning 5-3 with some excellent shots being made by Neive W and Charlotte H. Unfortunately we could not keep the lead with Chetwynde winning the game by 2 at full time.

Second game was against Dowdales who had won against Chetwynde so the pressure was on! The team played well under pressure and the attacking centre court players were working well together. By half time the score was 9-5 to Dowdales. Lucy P who captained the team remained positive and the team made some tactical changes. In the final quarter the team played brilliantly! The final score was 16-13 to Ulverston!

All three teams had won and lost a game so the final came down to goal difference. Ulverston came second scoring a total of 28 goals and are through to the county final to be held at Sedbergh.

Well done girls fantastic effort!

Netball Festival

It was now the year 8’s turn to get back into netball. Miss Bird took two teams to Furness Academy to take part in the netball festival on Monday 18th September. Both teams played exceptionally well with the A team winning all their matches. Both teams represented the school brilliantly and I look forward to taking them to future fixtures.

Keep your eyes peeled as the year 7 fixtures will be coming soon!

Netball Festival

On Tuesday 12th September Miss Bird took a under 14, and an under 16 netball team to Furness Academy to take part in a netball festival. This is a great way of getting the team back into netball after the summer holidays with teams turning up and just playing. Both teams played really well and it was clear they had not forgotten their netball skills! Looking forward to future fixtures!
