2016 Year 8 South Lakes Rugby Union Development Festival

A squad of 13 boys took part in a Year 8 Rugby Union Festival at Ambleside RUFC on Thursday October 13.  Having never played a game of Rugby Union before it was a case of a leap into the unknown for our Year 8 boys.  To keep it short, 10 schools took part from across Cumbria  and the competition was played in 2 groups of 5 teams.  In our group was Caldew School, Dallam School, Kirkby Stephen Grammar School and Queen Katherine School.  After our first 3 games we had won all 3 of our games against some Rugby union playing schools.  Unfortunately, due to an injury in another game which required an ambulance, we could not play our last game, but that was against definitely the weakest team in our group, so I was confident it would have been 4 from 4.  We have another Rugby Union Festival to look forward to in March at Hawcoat Park.

Well done Boys.
