UVHS U15 Girls Indoor Cricket Success

On Monday March 2nd, UVHS girls played Furness Academy for the right to play at the Lady Taverners Girls U15 County Indoor Competition.  As UVHS and Furness Academy were the only schools who had entered this Barrow Schools Competition it was decided by the organiser to play a one off winner takes all game.  Three of our team had only weeks earlier played in the winning U13 team with the remaining 5 members of the team moving forward from last years U13 County comp runners up team.  The girls are very enthusiastic and have practice since January to make sure they moved on in this competition and that practice paid off.  Batting first the Ulverston girls started well and continued to score runs freely across our 8 over innings finishing on 73/3.  Furness Academy then batted but the UVHS girls bowled and fielded brilliantly to restrict Furness Academy to 43/6 from 8 overs.  This team now moves onto the Lady Taverners U15 County Indoor Competition to be held at Penrith Leisure Centre in late March.
