Yr 8 Rugby League Festival Winners

Last year’s Yr 7 county rugby league champions have started their Yr 8 campaign with a comprehensive display at the Yr 8 Rugby League festival held at St.Bernards on Sept 17.  Playing 10 minute games UVHS beat Walney 14-0, Millom 14-0, Dowdales 6-4 and St.Bernards 10-0 to win the festival.  The boys had to also play the first 4 games with only a very short rest, which on a lovely tropical afternoon was an excellent effort fitness wise.  No one player stood out on the afternoon with all who took the field making valuable team contributions.  We had two regular forwards out injured and also had five new players taking part for the first time in games, so once the boys all start to gel and understand their positions and roles at practice, this team is again going to hopefully go a long way in competitions this year.  One for the diary, we play Dowdales at home on October 7.  Dowdales were very strong last night as were we and we had to play excellently to beat them, so this future game should be a cracker.

A brilliant effort from all pupils and very proud of them representing UVHS with great resilience throughout a full adult length game of four 15 minute quarters.U13 National Netball CUp U13 national warm
